Young Artists

Creative Outlet’s Young Artists Program (Y.A.P) program supports the professional development of aspiring young artists living in New York City. The scholarship-based program couples young adults with experienced professional artists who help them train and to develop their professional skills, attributes and values, while producing performances and season tours at traditional dance venues across the nation. These Young artists are able to hone their knowledge and understanding of the cultural and performing arts industries, while increasing their commitment to the educational and professional path that matches their goals.

The program consists of approximately 21 young artists who study modern, ballet, traditional african, jazz and other dance styles and techniques, as well as theater and voice under the direction of professional artists.

They rehearse between 12 and 15 hours per week in preparation for fifty productions a year, including our creative outlet’s young artists concerts produced in December of every year. The Company tours with 6-20 performers and creative outlet personnel, (Artistic Director, Company Manager, Technical Director, Lighting Designer, Wardrobe Supervisor and Stage Manager), based on the nature of the event.
