Matthew Livingston
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Matthew Woodcock-Livingston showed a passion for art from an early age, with a strong inclination towards dance and movement creation. By the age of 7, he had already gained recognition from the Walter K. Hoerning Foundation, which fully funded his early artistic endeavors, allowing him to train extensively.
At 11, Matthew enrolled in the dance department at the Ronald Edmonds Learning Center under the direction of Ruth Sistaire and at Creative Outlet Dance Theatre of Brooklyn under the mentorship of Jamel Gaines. There, he began to develop his artistic skills, studying West African dance, tap, hip-hop, jazz, lyrical dance, and even exploring choreography.
In 2014, Matthew graduated from the renowned Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, where he received extensive training in Ballet, Graham, and Horton techniques. He also had the opportunity to work with choreographers such as Bryan Arias, Jamal Callender, Nigel Campbell, Jamel Gaines, Elisa King, Jennifer Muller, and Pedro Ruiz. After graduation, Matthew attended the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, UK.
Matthew has performed with artists like FKA twigs, showcasing his talent on both national and international stages. Since 2017, he has been a dancer with AURA Dance Theatre in Lithuania.
