Nigel Campbell
Nigel Campbell is an accomplished Artistic Director, educator, and co-founder of MOVE|NYC, dedicated to promoting diversity in dance. Born in the Bronx, New York, he trained at Creative Outlet Dance Theater and graduated from The Juilliard School. His professional dance career includes performances with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Saarlandisches Staatstheater, Luna Negra Dance Theater, and GöteborgsOperans Danskompani. He also worked with Gibney Company, where he served as Company Director and later as the inaugural Artistic Director of Gibney Center, leading transformative programming efforts.
Nigel has taught at prestigious institutions like The Juilliard School, USC Kaufman School of Dance, and NYU Tisch, among others. He serves on the Artistic Advisory Board of the Princess Grace Foundation and the Board of Directors at Culture For One, a non-profit supporting children in foster care through the arts. His contributions to dance have earned him multiple accolades, including a Princess Grace Award and a 2019 Martha Hill Mid-Career Award.
